*This is a separate fee and includes rehearsal and choreography. The competitions and costuming will incur additional fees.

REGISTRATION FEE $25

 

*All payments may be made by cash, check, credit or debit card. Credit and debit payments subject to processing fee.

*Students are enrolled for the full school year from September 2024 to June 2025. All classes must be paid in full, by the month, whether the student is present or absent from class. Students cannot miss months once enrolled in classes.

*Each year every student must fill out a registration form and pay the $25.00 registration fee.

*Tuition is due the first class of each month. After the 8th of the month there will be a $10.00 charge on late tuition.

*NO CREDITS, TRANSFERS OR REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR MISSED CLASSES. NO REFUNDS, CREDITS OR TRANSFERS ON COSTUME DEPOSITS OR BALANCES.

*COSTUME DEPOSITS AND BALANCES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

*Parents will receive a monthly newsletter by email explaining information about what is going on at the dance school, as well as upcoming events that the students are involved in.

*Dance RI is closed during Christmas and April vacations. Dance RI is also closed on all holidays.

*The school should be notified when students will be absent from class.

*If a student is very ill, please do not have them attend class.

*Dance RI is not responsible for items forgotten at the school.

*Parents are asked to make sure their children are on time for class and picked up promptly when class is over.

*Students must follow the dress code.

*No student should be wearing jewelry during class.

*No student is to chew gum while dancing.

*The performance will be held at the end of June.

Please read the following rules carefully. If everyone follows these rules, the performance will run smoothly and professionally. Dance RI teachers and students have worked very hard to organize and produce this performance and have these rules in place for a reason. Please understand and respect these decisions.

 

REHEARSALS AND PICTURE DAY

 

• There will be two mandatory recital rehearsals at the studio. The first half rehearsal is Monday, June 23rd from 5:00-6:30pm. The second half rehearsal is Tuesday, June 24th from 5:00-7:00pm. See Page 2 of this packet to see which classes are in the first and second half. Students are to wear regular dance attire and shoes with hair off the neck to these rehearsals. Do NOT wear your costumes to any rehearsals!
• Pictures will be taken on Wednesday, June 25th at the studio. See page 2 of this packet for a full Picture Day schedule. Please arrive 15 minutes before your assigned time. Do not let students play with their costumes. Put it on at home for pictures and remove it immediately after. We have no way of getting another costume. We would like a group shot of all the numbers in the show, so if everyone could wait for the group to arrive, we would be grateful.

 

RECITAL DAY

 

• The recital is Thursday, June 26th at 6:30 pm at The Event Factory; 144 Metro Center Blvd Warwick, RI
• Mandatory rehearsal on the day of the recital at The Event Factory: Dancers who are in the second half of the show need to arrive at 4:00 pm for a walk through. Dancers who are only in the first half of the show need to arrive at 5:00 pm.
• Students in the first half of the show are to be dressed in their costumes by 6:00 pm. Those students who are only in the second half of the show may change at intermission. Do not wear your costume to the rehearsal/performance. Wear something that you can rehearse in that can be easily removed without messing up your hair and makeup.
• Mothers can stay with their children until 6:15 pm, then they must proceed to their seats. There are no men allowed in the dressing room. This is for the safety and comfort of the dancers.
• As soon as the show is over please report backstage to pick up your child.
• No video cameras or photography are allowed at the performance. We have hired a professional company to record the show. The studio has signed a contract with the company and will be fined if anyone is found taking photos or recording the show. In celebration of the 30 year anniversary of Dance RI all videos will be complimentary. All enrolled students will automatically recive a copy which will be sent via email.
• NO BALLOONS are allowed. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
• The performance will run for approximately 2 1/2hours.

 

HAIR AND MAKEUP FOR THE RECITAL

 

• Hair and makeup are to be done at home.
• Hair must be worn in a bun without bangs. There is to be no hair hanging anywhere.
• Dancers need to wear a LOW bun with no part due to hats being worn or tumbling.
• Makeup should be blush, mascara, eyeliner, red lipstick. Older students need fake eyelashes.
• Everyone is to have makeup on, no exceptions.
• No jewelry.
• No nail or toenail polish.

 

RECITAL COSTUMES

 

• No students are to wear underwear. If a bra is needed, it must be unseen.
• Everyone must have on proper tights and shoes.
• Please do not make any alterations to your costumes. We complete full fittings of every costume on the students in-house to ensure everything is a proper fit before sending them home. Since we take great care to steam and prepare all costumes, please hang your costumes neatly in a safe place with all accessories and tights together until recital time. Please do not let students play with their costumes. We are not responsible for lost accessories, tights, or costume pieces.
